What is vaccine equity?
Vaccine equity means that public health systems have realized proportional vaccination rates among Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Native/Indigenous, and other groups most impacted by COVID-19 when compared to the highest vaccination rate among White communities.
What is health equity?
“Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This requires removing obstacles to health such as poverty, discrimination, and their consequences, including powerlessness and lack of access to good jobs with fair pay, quality education and housing, safe environments, and health care.” (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation)
about us
The New Mexico Vaccine Equity and Rebuild Network (NM-VERN) was created by the New Mexico Public Health Association with support from the Con Alma Health Foundation to connect people and organizations working for vaccine equity across New Mexico.
We and our partners strive to coordinate our efforts for promoting vaccine equity to ensure communities, providers, and the public health workforce can work efficiently to achieve this goal.

"For us, it was a lack of information about and access to the vaccine--not conspiracy level stuff. People were saying, I work, I can't take a day off, it's across town, I can't go to these events, they're drive-through and I don't have a car...." - Tomás Rivera, Executive Director of Chainbreaker Collective, Santa Fe, 10/20/21
